Hadera - The Pioneers
Shmuel Shimshoni
Introduction
It was revealed to me while working in, both the field and in the office of the Hadera Burial Society, the Hevra Kadiasha, that dozens of local deceased persons were unidentified while occupants of several graves in the cemetery were unrecorded. It is also known that in the early years of Hadera those suffering with malaria, who had gone to Zichron Yaacov for medical treatment that was unsuccessful, ended up being buried there.

I decided to investigate which of those on the Hadera "unknown" list might be interred in Zichron, thus reducing that register of those who might have been buried in Hadera but who's exact plot might not be known. My findings were astonishing. br>
With the help of hand-written documents in Hadera's Khan Museum, a whole new picture of those pioneers comes to life…
