The Pittsburgh Jewish Newspaper
Project
On Sept 11 1942, the Criterion
listed all Jews serving in the
US Forces. There's a huge list
of names, over 3 pages.
The Jewish Welfare Board
ultimately published their
complete national list in 1947
in the form of a two-volume
book, with the list of names
running to some 590 pages. The
title page refers to "The Story
of 550,000 Fighters for
Freedom." The main title of the
book is "American Jews in World
War II" |

Digitized documents for soldiers
who died or disappeared during
WW II (website in Russian)
It contains only military
personnel (officers and
soldiers) who were killed or
disappeared during WWII
1941-1945. Soldiers were drafted
usually between ages 18 - 35. No
civilians or Holocaust victims
are listed. Search usually
returns many pages of results
especially for common names.
That site is very overloaded and
still under construction (some
features do not work). January
