prepared by Eva Floersheim, November 2003
In November 2003 Yehuda Witenoff and Eva Floersheim from the Galil Genealogical Society presented a database of some of the Aliyat Hanoar files from the years 1946 - 1949 to the Tel Aviv branch of IGS. Following this lecture, the following information may be helpful for those who attended the lecture and/or those interested in the subject matter.
1.
The original Aliyat Hanoar files are located at the Central Zionist Archives in Jerusalem

The Galil Genealogical Society has paper copies at the library at Merkas Hahantzacha in Kiryat Tivon where monthly meetings are held. These copies Eva Floersheim has arranged in two different holdings:

a. lists of Aliyat Hanoar children coming from ports in Europe to Eretz Israel between 1946 - 1949, arranged according to the ship they came with.
b. lists of Aliyat Hanoar children while they are still in Europe (1945 - 1949), arranged according to the country, the town and the specific children's homes .

Yehuda Witenoff has finished making a database of the ship files with a list of close to 7000 names of children.
He is now working to make a database of the files of children while they were still in Europe.

2.
To get more information about these children, it is possible to visit Yad Vashem and access the following resources:

ITS Master Index
CH.S.A. (A)
CH.S.A. (B1)
Ch.S.A. ( B2)

3.
For children coming from Poland, it is possible to search for information at the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw.

4.
For children with Polish roots who came back from the Soviet Union in 1946 to Poland, it is possible to check the newspaper published by the Jewish Agency after the war "Le-karov ve-le-rachok". Copies are available at the Central Zionist Archives in Jerusalem. In one of the copies there is a list of around 1000 children coming back from the Soviet Union.
5.
For children with Polish roots coming back from the Soviet Union in 1946 to Poland, it might be worth checking the archives of Karta in Warsaw
http://www.karta.org.pl/
They try to document what the Soviet Union did to Polish citizens and are building an Index of the Repressed.
6.
For children with Polish roots it is always worth checking the Archives of the website of Beth Lochamei Haghettaot

Eva is working on the Missing Identity website where child survivors can post their search for information about their past and about their family members.

If you know anybody who came from Poland to Eretz Israel during the years 1946 - 1949 with Aliyat Hanoar, they may have come with a Zionist movement popularly called Koordinacja . Eva is trying to document the around thousand children who came with the Koordinacja. If your friends want to check out if they possibly came with the Koordinacja , they can phone Eva at 04-6766219 and she will check her lists.
