Description of Resources

There are no family trees but there are documents of birth, marriages and death. There is material of indirect genealogical interest in books, periodicals and manuscripts. There are oral testimonies on microfilms and on audio-tapes. The languages of documents are: Hebrew, Yiddish, English, Russian, Polish, German, Spanish, Romanian. The geographic areas are Palestine till 1948 and then Israel and countries abroad.

The catalogue is computerized in Hebrew, English and has Latin letters. It uses the Dewey system. Much material is computerized. Other material is not on open stacks and has to be ordered. Some material exists on microfilm. There are microfilm readers on the premises.
