Description of Resources
Yad Tabenkin, commemorating Yitzhak Tabenkin, is the research and documentation center of the United Kibbutz movement. Part of the archives of the United Kibbutz movement includes political parties and organizations of which the Kibbutz Hameuhad was a principal component. Holdings include archives of many early youth movements and political parties as well as a special section devoted to oral documentation by veteran kibbutz members. The archives also contain numerous personal archives, films, cassettes and photographs.

The documents appear in the following languages: Hebrew, English, Russian, German, Arabic, Polish and French.

Community Records:
Includes vital records - manuscripts of birth, marriages and deaths.

Oral history collections: Have a number of personal testimonies of veteran kibbutz members.

Finding Aids:
The catalogue is computerized in Hebrew. There is both a classified and general catalogue.

Description of Facility:
The library is fully computerized and is divided into two sections: the general library serving the general public and the research library mainly used by researchers. The general library contains literary and reference material on a variety of subjects and in different languages. The research library is also open to the general public. A detailed catalogue of all publications is available.

The material is in closets. The stacks are closed. The material has to be ordered. Material may be ordered by phone or fax. Searches can be done from abroad.

Fees/Copies:
Photocopies can be made for documents of less than 10 pages length.

Restrictions on Use:
The research library has restrictions in use of certain archive materials.
