| A handwritten list of American citizens living in
Eretz Israel in 1917, compiled while WWI was still raging, was found carelessly
tossed into a box at the Jerusalem City Archives. It had no link to any of the other documents in that particular box. No one knows the origin of this 19 page list nor the reason for its having been compiled.
It comprises 342 American citizens and includes the following details: a current number, the surnames, given names and year of birth. The list has been alphabetically arranged by surname and given names. |
