List of Americans Citizens residing in Palestine in 1929 from the US State Department (1929).
Following the 1929 Arab riots, during which unarmed Jews were butchered, mutilated, castrated, beaten, raped and sent running for their lives, a very worried William Goldhirsch wrote to the US State Department to enquire about the well-being of his parents, who were residing in Mea Shearim, Jerusalem, at the time. In response to Goldhirsh's letter, the State Department requested a survey of all the United States citizens then living in Palestine. This file is based upon the American Consul's reply to that request.
